For a couple of decades now, for motorbikes, mopeds and bicycles, the traditionally drum brake system has gradually begun to be replaced by the disc brake. It therefore became necessary to produce a new type of brake pad, again made by a process of compacting and subsequent sintering of a mixture of metal, organic and graphite powders, but with different dimensional, structural and technological characteristics than the car brake pad. This gave rise to new companies specialising in the production of brake pads for motorbikes, mopeds or bicycles, with which we collaborated from the outset in the design and supply of equipment and moulds for vertical hydraulic presses, used in the powder compaction phase.
