In the early 1980s, diamond wire began to be used for the extraction and squaring of natural stone blocks. IMAS immediately began to collaborate with manufacturers in the Carrara area, both for the manufacture of the diamond beads and for the plasticisation of the wire, which was necessary to ensure the safety of quarry workers. From the early years of the new century, with the appearance of multi-wire looms, there is further development of wire cutting technology. IMAS today produces increasingly sophisticated plastic injection moulds for the world's leading manufacturers.
